Eat or Heat – How we are helping

When we set up ‘Eat or Heat’ earlier this year, with the support of the Teaching Staff Trust, we wanted to help people in desperate need - children facing an empty fridge and going hungry. Families who are freezing cold because there’s no money to switch the heating on. People sitting in darkness because there’s nothing on their meter. This is the reality for many people in the UK, and the past few months have seen some startling statistics come to light.   

How is the campaign going?

Through our ongoing campaign, we’ve created a fund for charities to access. They tell us who needs a £25 payment, and we provide a food or energy voucher directly to support the recipient.

So far, C Supplies has donated £7,000 to the fund and you’ve been donating too. We’ve received almost £1,000 in cash donations and product donations as well, which we’re selling to raise additional funds.

 Over the last 3 months charities have been joining us, completing a simple application, and we’ve been able to start making a difference to people’s lives when they need it the most. Sarah (not her real name) received a payment when she had nowhere else to turn and told us:

“At this point, I could cry with so much appreciation. It is so needed. I will be happy to accept a Tesco voucher please”.
